Octave Mandolin “Thistle”
Thistle is a Scottish interpretation of an octave mandolin. A carved Western red cedar top from old growth timber reclaimed by Alaska Specialty Woods is married to a figured walnut back and sides with a highly figured maple neck with a walnut inlay of its namesake. Ebony bridge and fingerboard, MOP inlay, Rubner tuners, custom nickel plated Allen tailpiece, and a JJB Artist Series Prestige 220 pickup for when things need to get much louder.
